This jewelry set consists of a 14k yellow gold and angel skin coral band ring, and a pair of matching coral and 14 karat gold stud earrings. This vintage jewellery set can be purchased as a group, or the coral ring and the coral earrings can be bought separately.
The coral earrings are 14 carat yellow gold studs and backings, each set with one smooth oval coral cabochon, measuring approximately 6mm long and 3.5mm wide. It is a four prong setting, so the coral is held securely, with a notch in the post to add some security to the earring nut. These are gorgeous little 1950s or 1960s earrings, demure but with that rich peachy pink colour I just love to see in angel skin coral.
The matching ring is size 5 1/4 and features three smooth oval angel skin coral cabochons set across the 14 karat yellow gold setting. The ring setting is a split setting with a triangular shaped cutaway on either side of the coral cabs. Each piece of coral is approximately 6.5mm by 5mm, slightly larger than the coral used in the stud earrings. These pieces of coral have that same peachy pink colour, and are beautiful contrast to the bright gold used in the band. For a thin band, there is a bit of weight to the ring, and there is some substance to the construction.
This estate silver and turquoise ring is clearly handmade, and it is easy to see that the band is not perfectly symmetrical in terms of the width on either side, but this adds to its charm, as does the tarnish that adds age and patina to the ring.
Condition: this estate silver ring is in excellent vintage condition, with some slight tarnish noted. This ring is solid and true. A one of a kind ring for a one of a kind person!
