This 1950s 10 karat yellow gold cocktail or statement ring features a large smooth oval cabochon of nephrite jade, set with six prongs to hold it in place, with a gold scalloped edging bordering the cabochon. This 1950s jade ring sits high on the finger, thanks to its raised cage setting, approximately 10mm above the band.

The nephrite jade is a pretty rich green in colour, and quite uniform in appearance, with a few dark flecks around the perimeter. The setting is airy in appearance, but made of a substantial amount of gold, and has a nice weight on the hand. The ring has more than enough gold to easily be sized up if you wanted it larger.

Condition: This ring is in excellent vintage condition, with no damage or flaws noted. While the jade cabochon does not feel loose, or visibly move, there is a slight click when the ring is moved, so one or more of the prongs will need to be adjusted by your local jeweller to correct this.
