A gorgeous sterling silver brooch, in the shape of a three sectioned leaf, featuring the Thai Goddess of Lightning, Mekkala. This sterling silver pin has rich black niello inlay with unusual engraving and measures just over 1 1/2" in width, and approx. 2" in height. The highly detailed enamelwork or niello features three different goddesses, and has terrific movement and quiet beauty.
There is a little tarnishing in places on the front and on the back of the brooch, around the pin backing, but otherwise the finish is quite shiny considering the age. There is a slight spread of of the enamel near the bottom right figure but given its position next to the silver, it is not very noticeable. The clasp on the brooch is functional. The brooch is marked on the back as being from Thailand and as being sterling silver.
A wonderful vintage brooch from the the 1940s - 1950s and would be a great addition to a collector of Thai / Siam silver pieces or Nielloware.

Shipping costs are the cost of mailing an item, along with any necessary packing/packaging materials. If shipping costs seem high, sometimes they are. When estimating for the purposes of listing an item on Etsy, I have to list the most expensive possible shipping destination in a given country. More expensive items are shipped with tracking and insurance, which adds to the cost. If the difference between my shipping estimate and actual costs are greater than $2, I will refund you the difference.
If you are thinking of purchasing an item, contact me with your postal or mailing code, and I will check the precise shipping costs. For less expensive items (under $50), I am willing to ship by cheaper options, but please be aware that this can extend shipping times by 4 to 8 weeks for international shipping to some destinations.
In short, not turning a profit on postage, but need to cover the costs getting lovely jewellery from me to you!
