These sweet Mid Century sterling silver and black enamel clip on earrings feature the Thai Goddess of Lightning, Mekkala. These sterling silver 1940s or 1950s earrings have rich black niello inlay with unusual engraving and measure just over 15mm in width, and approx. 42mm in height. Each earring has serrated edges like a leaf, and then are veins of silver around the central pattern to emphasize the leaf shape and structure of the earrings.
There is a little tarnishing in places on the front and on the back of the brooch, around the pin backing, but otherwise the finish is quite shiny considering the age. Both earrings have functional clip on levers. The brooch is marked on the back as being from Siam (Thailand) and as being sterling silver.
A wonderful pair of vintage 925 silver earrings from the the 1940s - 1950s and would be a great addition to a collector of Thai / Siam silver pieces or Nielloware.
