A gorgeous pair of sterling silver earrings featuring the Thai Goddess of Lightning, Mekkala. This sterling silver pin has rich black niello inlay with unusual engraving. The earrings have a leaf shape, with a thin silver border visible around the design.
The black enamel has almost a hematite lustre, a very shiny charcoal grey or black tone. The earrings marked on the back as being from Siam (Thailand) and as being sterling silver.
A wonderful pair of vintage Nielloware from the the 1940s - 1950s, these would be a great addition to a collector of Thai / Siam silver pieces or Nielloware.

The main body of the earring measures 25mm from top to bottom. The backings are sterling silver screw backs.
Condition: These earrings are in great vintage condition. They show slight wear and tarnish that you would expect in an item of their age, but no dents or other damage noted.
