This stunning Mother-0f-Pearl Victorian brooch would be a beautiful gift for a beloved mother or mother-in-law, or would be a classic "something old" to wear on your wedding day. It is such a great example of how beautiful MOP (Mother-of-Pearl) is when done right, with waves of slightly tinted opalesence reflecting light.
Aside from its naturally creme tone, there are also hints of blush pink, gold, green, and aqua that come through this carved circle brooch. It is approximately 3mm thick, with back of the backing shell still visible on the back of this Victorian brooch. The clasp is unmarked, but is possibly rolled rose gold or a reddish brass, as the metal has a ruddy tone to it; the clasp is still tight and functional.
Condition: There are two scratches or carving marks on the back of the brooch, but these are not visible to the front, and are not very deep; but overall the brooch looks good for its age. It shows some of the light wear or slight scratches one associates with previously loved vintage items. More pictures or closer pictures can be provided if you need them.

Shipping costs are the cost of mailing an item, along with any necessary packing/packaging materials. If shipping costs seem high, sometimes they are. When estimating for the purposes of listing an item on Etsy, I have to list the most expensive possible shipping destination in a given country. More expensive items are shipped with tracking and insurance, which adds to the cost. If the difference between my shipping estimate and actual costs are greater than $2, I will refund you the difference.
If you are thinking of purchasing an item, contact me with your postal or mailing code, and I will check the precise shipping costs. For less expensive items (under $50), I am willing to ship by cheaper options, but please be aware that this can extend shipping times by 4 to 8 weeks for international shipping to some destinations, and can eliminate the ability to track or insure the package.
In short, not turning a profit on postage, but need to cover the costs getting lovely jewellery from me to you!
